Wind Powered Car

Another interesting project worked on was the wind powered car, a battery powered Lotus Exige, charged using wind generated electricity. The whole project has been filmed to promote the use of battery powered vehicles and renewable energy, on the blog at www.zerocarbonista.com/tag/wind-car/ it was a really interesting concept, and back in 2010 raised some fascinating ideas about changing our views of the future of automotive vehicle use and development.

Original aluminium billet for the final drive housings started weiging 85kg and finshed at just 11kg. The other picture shows the gate for the drive and direction selector.
